NEW BEDFORD — A shooting in New Bedford's South End early Monday morning resulted in one victim going to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police spokesperson Lt. Scott Carola confirmed that South End patrol units responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the intersection of Pleasant and Grinnell streets at around 2 a.m. Monday.

Officers arrived to find shell casings along with damage to a nearby house and vehicles, Carola said.

Shortly afterwards, a shooting victim arrived at St. Luke’s Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury, according to police.
